At Breed Union Registry (PTY) Ltd, we recognize that canine identity is defined by intention, documentation, and breeder expertise. Our eligibility standards are built on transparency, traceability, and ethical submission.
We certify canines based on breeder‑declared lineage and registration data, with optional enhancements such as DNA Verified status for those who wish to strengthen their records with genetic confirmation. This approach allows us to honor both established breeds and emerging pairings, while maintaining professional standards across all submissions.
Purebred Lineage — Canines with consistent traits and documented ancestry within a recognized breed.
Designer Pairings — Purposeful crosses between two distinct breeds (e.g., Frenchton, Cavoodle), submitted with clear pairing details.
Emerging Breeds — Breeds in early stages of establishment, defined by uniform traits and growing acceptance within dedicated breeder circles.
To be eligible for registration, submissions must include:
Registered name
Breed or pairing
Date of birth
Sex
Breeder and owner details
Microchip number (if available)
All canines registered with Breed Union Registry must be supported by valid paperwork. If a canine does not have its own pedigree documents, then the parents must have paperwork on record. This ensures transparency, protects the integrity of our registry, and allows future generations to build a verifiable lineage.

DNA Verified status (submission of accredited DNA test results for parentage or health confirmation)
Breed Union Registry (PTY) Ltd certificates reflect breeder‑submitted lineage and registration data, with the option to include DNA Verified status when accredited test results are provided.
Certificates do not constitute:
Veterinary health checks (health or temperament)
Legal contracts (ownership or transfer validity)
Guarantees of genetic purity beyond the scope of submitted DNA results
DNA Verified indicates that accredited laboratory results have been submitted and recorded with BUR. Results are breeder‑provided and apply only to the tested canine.
Breed Union Registry (PTY) Ltd supports:
Responsible breeding practices
Transparent documentation
Inclusive recognition of pedigrees, pairings, and emerging breeds — regardless of registry status elsewhere
Prestige‑driven certification that honors each canine’s heritage
We believe every lineage has a legacy worth preserving. DNA Verified or not, each registration at BUR is a step toward building a trusted, traceable, and prestigious canine record.
